Friday’s pick-and-mix

I’ve raided the archives for today’s post. It’s an eclectic pick-and-mix of songs, all very different but each with their own individual charm. Download these tracks, add them to your collection and enjoy.
Summer is basically here. Time to whack out some Subskrpt.
Subskrpt – We’ll Be Fine
I wasn’t at all surprised when I heard The Concrete’s were Swedish. So Skandi right now.
The Concretes – Good Evening
Please ignore the very European 10 second intro from Portuguese outfit Heartbreak & Muchi. Focus instead on the drop at 1.10. Not what I was expecting.
Heartbreak & Munchi – Aponte o Não
Chad Van Gaalen sees us off. Have a great weekend.
Chad Van Gaalen – TMNT Mask

Sebastien Tellier – Sexuality

Valentine’s Day has gone, but long live l ‘amour! This time in the form of Sebastien Tellier’s 2008 album Sexuality.  If you could parody the great French seducer in the form of electronic music, then it would sound like Sexuality does. Make sense? No? Don’t worry, all I would say is scrap Megatune’s Valentine playlist, let these tracks do the work instead.
Produced by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, these are my pick of the bunch.

Sebastien Tellier – Look

Sebastien Tellier – Roche

Sebastien Tellier – Manty

Happy Valentine’s Day

It’s that day of the year, and Megatunes is getting in the spirit. Today’s post is going to be like Cupid on steroids, with a grenade launcher of passion, enforcing some Valentine love. So grab your loved one, stick on these tracks and MTs guarantees you some action.
Love is a gamble and Finley’s taken the risk. If this one doesn’t get you, then it’s a one-way ticket to Spinsterville. Population: You.

As beautiful as Wicked Game is, it’s a tragically sad song. It tells a story of heartache and agony caused by careless affection. Basically the girl in this video is a massive cock-tease. Still, it didn’t stop Ross and Rachel getting it on.

Chris Issak – Wicked Games (Right click & Save link as… for download)

I can imagine Mick’s had his pick of a fair few wild horses in his time. Nay joke of a lie.

The Rolling Stones – Wild Horses (Right click & Save link as… for download)

I wouldn’t be surprised to see this one on BCB today…

Santana ft Everlast – Put Your Lights On

Put your lights on comes from Santana’a highly acclaimed 1999 album Supernatural. Excluding having reached the dizzy heights of 87 in the Swiss charts, the single itself barely impacted anywhere else. That being said, MTs is a massive fan of Santana’s collaboration with Everlast. Santana’s mastery of the guitar combined with Everlast’s powerful vocals, result in a song as emotive as it is underated. Highly enjoyable stuff.
