Luv Luv Luv…

On Thursday night megatunes had the pleasure of attending Luv Luv Luv’s launch party. It was a great night; made so by the open bar, beautiful people and showcase of real talent – with performances from Theme Park Band, Jamie N Commons, Blood Royale and Florence and the Machine.
The performance of the night was from Florence and the Machine. The temptress Florence mesmerised the intimate crowd with songs from her upcoming sophomore album, along with a couple of classic s. To be completely honest the performance blew me away. Florence looks like a woman possessed when on stage, she sang from a different place and brought the spellbound crowd with her. Her new songs were typically soulful, but for me the highlight had to be the stunning crescendo of Rabbit heart. Truly epic.
Also on Luv’s books are Coco Sumner and Fyfe Dangerfield, who have collaborated to cover Neil Young’s Only Love can break your heart. It’s a brave song to cover, but the result is beautiful. If Fyfe’s voice sounds familiar it’s probably because his version of Always a Woman was chosen by John Lewis to appear in their now famous christmas advert.

London duo Tom Cawte & David Thornley who make up Babeshadow are next. Sea Serpants’ melancholic guitar riffs and summery vibes will inevitably draw comparisons with Vampire Weekend, and that is no mean reckoning. Enjoy with the Indian summer.
The last artist signed by Luv is electronic musician Koudlam. The self billed ‘Symphonic Composer’ creates electronic tunes with classical influences always sung with his anglo-french tone.
